    My great grandfather was a miner with the Newcastle Coal Mining Company in the 1880s onwards. He lived at Merewether and I am trying to find out some information about his life in the mine, where the pit would hav ebeen etc. He was apparently the secretary to the Glebe Miners lodge in the 1888 strike and I was interested in seeing if there would be records available of this time.
